Clovis Superintendent Dr. Terry Bradley, Dr. Pete Mehas, Dr. Walt Buster and Education Leaders Unanimously Endorse Poochigian

       CLOVIS, CA – In an unprecedented move, Clovis Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Terry Bradley, former Superintendent Dr. Walt Buster, and all seven members of the governing board of the Clovis Unified School District, have offered their strong support for Debbie Poochigian in her bid for election to the Fresno County Board of Supervisors. 

            “Dr. Terry Bradley, Brian Heryford, Sandra Bengel, Richard Lake, Dr. Jim Van Volkinburg, Ginny Hovsepian, Elizabeth “Betsy” Sandoval, and Dr. Susan Walker have provided outstanding leadership in guiding one of our nation’s best school districts to the highest levels of academic achievement through a period of incredible growth,” said Poochigian.  “As a former middle school teacher and coach, I know how important education is for the personal and scholastic fulfillment of our youth and for the strength of our economy.  I cannot adequately express my appreciation for the confidence placed in me by each individual member of the Clovis Unified School Board and the district’s outstanding Superintendent.” 

            “Debbie has been a strong supporter of public schools and educational opportunities for all children in the Valley,” said Dr. Buster.

            “I have known Debbie Poochigian for many years and have admired her commitment to serving others in a wide range of civic, educational and charitable organizations and causes,” said Brian Heryford.  “She is thoughtful, mature, energetic, and has as a deep commitment to children’s education, health, and social needs.  Throughout the years, she has maintained close relationships with our district.  I am very pleased that she has family members who teach in Clovis Unified.” 

            Retired Clovis Unified Superintendent Dr. Walt Buster, and retired Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pete Mehas joined this prominent group of educators with their strong endorsement of Debbie Poochigian for Supervisor.

            In addition to individual members of the Clovis Unified School District board who are currently serving, Debbie Poochigian is supported by community pillars Everett “Bud” Rank, Ralph Lynn and Bill McFarlane who were members of the governing board of the Clovis Unified School District when the unified district was created in 1960.
